Spotlight: Trustee Ciara Brett
Ciara has had a lifetime’s involvement with the IYF, as the daughter of one of the original founders, Nessa O’Neill. She has fond (?) memories of being dragged from the pub to stuff envelopes, stand in doorways ticking off guest lists and act as general sherpa for the charity.
Since March 2013 Ciara has taken on a more official role on the IYF UK board as a trustee, but those days of witnessing her mum organising the annual ball must have rubbed off on her, as she takes on the mantle this year.
In her spare time, Ciara sits on the board of the Women’s Irish Network, and also runs Google’s event production for Europe, Middle East & Africa. She joined the company in 2003 and has been responsible for the execution of many of their most ambitious events. This organisational prowess comes in handy with her South West London home, which she shares with husband Tim and their three boys. An unhealthy love of butter means that any hours left over in the week are either spent making bread, or competing in sporting events to undo the damage.
