The 52 young people attending Great Escape completed sessions on identity and overcoming life difficulties. Many of the leaders at the residential were previously young people at the camp and can really relate to the experiences of the young people.

“I've done a lot of thinking and I've decided that this year I'm going to work super hard in school, life and with my family and friends. I'm not going to bother fighting or arguing, messing about or not listening in school. And it's all down to my family and leaders. I now realize all they want for me is for me to do well and to enjoy life while I can. They don’t want me to make the same mistakes they did. So thank you to all of them for that.” – young girl, 13

The young people learn new skills at camp and improve their confidence interacting in a positive environment where negative behaviours are challenged.

“Had the best week of my life with the best people ever thank you to Willowfield Youth for making it happen. Buzzing for next year.” – young girl, 13
